“It went really fast from the beginning, even though it was uphill from the start. I think half of the peloton wanted to go in a breakaway. A group of 13 riders escaped, including Jan Bakelants of our team. An ideal situation for us. Jan finished seventh.”
In the stage of yesterday, the team worked for sprinter Gianni Meersman. “The arrival was a bit tricky. I made a mistake and Gianni could not really fight for the win. But we all learn from our mistakes.”
