Styby wins second stage in Tirreno-Adriatico!

The second stage in Tirreno-Adriatico has been won by… Styby! Our favorite attacked with 3 kilometer to go on a small hill and won by a few seconds. He takes the lead in the general, points and mountainclassifitation.

“We talked about this stage two weeks ago already”, Styby said after the finish. “We knew the final was very technical. My attack at that spot wasn’t planned, but I had enough space so I just went. I gave it all and it turned out perfect.”

Styby finished with one second ahead of Peter Sagan, the world champion, and Vincenzo Nibali. “I’m very happy with this victory, of course. I was second last Saturday in the Strade Bianche en yesterday we were also second in the team time trial, so yes, I’m happy with the first place.”

In the general classification our man had a lead of nine seconds on Greg Van Avermaet. “I would like to keep the leaders jersey until the end, but it’s going to be very difficult. The stage on Sunday will be very hard.”
