OPQS starts Vuelta with third place at team time trial

Tonight the Tour of Spain started with a team time trial over 27 kilometers from Vilanova de Arousa to Sanxenxo. Astana was the best team and claimed the first red jersey with Janez Brajkovic. Styby and Omega Pharma-Quick Step finished third.

“Phew”, grumbled Styby afterwards. “This was an amazing hard team time trial. Too bad we lose too many riders in the beginning. Tony Martin was very impressive! My legs were not great, but we have done our best piece by piece.”

OPQS lost 18 seconds in front of Astana. “Congratualations to them. We only went for the first place, so we are disappointed. It was a long day. First exploration, then lunch, a power nap, a snack, then to the start, warming up and then finally the race.”

“Now there follows a massage at the hotel and our dinner at 10pm. It will be late tonight! Tomorrow is the first stage in line about 178 kilometers”, said Styby, which fortunately did not have to get up too early, because the start of the second stage will be after noon.
