No rhythm in the time trial

After the hard ride on Monday and the rest day on Tuesday today was the eleventh stage of the Tour of Spain on the program. A 38-kilometer time trial in and around Tarazona was the next command. “I had the idea that my time would be a disaster during the time trial, but actually it was not too bad.”

“I had a terrible night and would therefore ‘take it easy’ during the time trial, also to save some energy for the next coming days. “During the climb I never found my rhythm and I felt that I was standing still. But my time was not too bad.”

During the time trial teammate Kevin De Weert had a big crash and broke his collarbone. “I feel so bad about it. He was working so hard and doing his job for 100%. He was the hardest worker in his Vuelta. We will miss him and I hope we see him back again soon!”
