The Tour of Oman is over. And with a third place for Rigoberto Uran it was a successful race for Omega Pharma-Quick Step. Styby also showed himself with a sixth place in stage three and an eight place in stage four. In the final ranking good for a 32nd place.
“Today it was the most difficult stage of the race. The pace was very high from the start. I was in the breakaway with eight other riders and I thought this was going to last till the end. But Team Sky caught us again unfortunately.”
Cannondale took over the lead. “They went very fast on a hill and at one moment there were only 40 riders left in the peloton. In the end it all came back together and it was a sprint. Matteo Trentin finished 7th and I finished as 12th.”
“We were able to keep Uran on his third place in the overall, so we can be satisfied. Now it’s a long way back home”, Styby said. His next race will be the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday and probably also Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on Sunday.
