In the Tour de l’Eurométropole Arnaud Démare has won his second stage in a row. Styby became 47th. “It was very nervous in the last kilometer, so I decided to take no risks.”
“It was fast from the start and in the first hour we rode 50 kilometers. Then de breakaway was gone. A little later in the stage, just before the feed zone, Belkin made an achellon, which was not funny because nobody could take their food bag and because it didn’t split, they just stopped pulling after the feed zone…”
On the local lap a big group rode away from the peloton. “We had Guillaume Van Keirsbulck and Stijn Vandenbergh in front: ani deal situation. But it didn’t last. It all came together again and it was a sprint. I wanted to help Andrew Fenn in the last kilometer, but it was too nervous. Of course, there was a big crash. Luckily nobody from our team and I hope the other riders are not seriously injured.”
