Styby won’t be in Tabor this weekend, where the world championship cyclocross will be hold. Our world champion won’t take part because of his painful shoulder and won’t give any commentary for the Czech television either. “Too bad I have to miss this.”
“It was a decision I made with the team. I was looking forward to it though, also to work for the Czech television, but the risk is too big. I would lose a lot of days of training and I already lost some after I got implates in my shoulder. And here in Spain it’s 20 degrees, in the Czech Republic it’s now freezing."
And so Styby will watch the race in Calpe. “I hope we can watch it, but I think we will. I’m not the only member of the team who has interest in cyclocross.”
“Hopefully my compatriots do it well. I’m looking forward to the performance of Katerina Nash, because she is one of the favorites at the women’s race. I don’t know what to expect from the pro’s, because Martin Bina and Radomir Simunek didn’t have a good season yet. But maybe they surprise for a home crowd.”
“My favourits are Sven Nys and Kevin Pauwels. But also the young guys, Wout Van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel, are in good condition. It will be interesting.”
