Adriano Malori is the first leader in Tirreno-Adriatico. The Italian was the best in a prologue over 5.7 kilometers. “I don’t even know my result”, Zdenek said after the time trial. “But I didn’t have a really good feeling.”
Styby eventually became 41st fifteen seconds after Malori. Normally the Tirreno had have been launched with a team time trial, but due bad weather condition last week the organization decided to shorten the stage and make it a prologue.
Tomorrow’s stage will remain as it is. “A stage of 153 kilometers. Normally it would end up in a bunch sprint”, said the Czech champion. Tirreno-Adriatico last until next Tuesday and closes with another time trial.
