Zdenek will only do one cyclocross race this winter. He will start in the Bpost Bank Trophy in Essen this Saturday. “After Boonen & Friends in Mol, the team and I have decided to do a very short winter and do only one race: in Essen.”
“For me it’s a tough decision, because everybody knows how much I’m fond of this discipline, but I don’t want to race a cyclocross calendar without being in good condition, because it would be disrespectful for the organizers and the fans.”
Just the one then. In Essen. “Essen is my second home. I have lots of friends and supporters. Therefore, I am glad that I am going to start here. But after Saturday the focus will go to the preparation for the road season.”
