Ready for the Strade Bianche

10th edition of the race Strade Bianche will welcome the last year’s winner for the second time. After the race in Mallorca and a stage race Volta ao Algarve Zdenek was preparing for 10 days at Mallorca.

“For 10 days the weather held out and I was training in ideal conditions. I’m happy, it was important part of preparation for me, as from now until Paris-Roubaix there is no longer space for such training. I am going to check the track tomorrow. I think there are two places where the pace changed compared to last year, tonight we go through the details. So far, it looks like it should rain, the track will thus be more difficult, even though I personally think it basically does not matter. Surely I will not be disadvantaged compared to others, but there is a greater risk of falling off course, but I am not afraid of the race on the water.”

The race track is 176 km long and goes out partly on the dusty roads between vineyards. This is a race like the Paris-Roubaix, although unlike the French race it is not run for the dice, and the profile is wavy. Overall, the riders will take nine such sections. At the end of the race there are aprox. ten really short and steep climbs.
