A day after his fourteenth place in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad Zdenek finished ninth in Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. “I am happy with the first test of the season. My next race will be the Strade Bianche on Saturday. I can’t wait for this one.”
“It was another tough race in Kuurne today. It took a long time for the breakaway was gone. We were all prepared for the important places of the day and we kind of did as according to plan. When the peloton split on the Oude Kwaremont we found a good group to ride to Kuurne.”
“In the final it was a lottery: who will attack on the right moment and who’s going with? And well, I missed it. Matteo Trentin of our team didn’t miss it and came along. Eventually Peter Sagan won and Matteo came in fourth.”
“Off course we could do better, but I think we did a good race anyway. I felt quiet good all day so on the end of the weekend I am happy with my feeling. Now I can’t wait for the Strade Bianche.”
