With the Amstel Gold Race there came an end to the spring season of Zdenek. And that ended well with another victory for teammate Philippe Gilbert. “Incredible what Gilbert has done again. He was so strong. What a season for him.”
“The race was damn hard. It all went very fast and the wind didn’t make it easier. I was quiet ok, I thought by myself that it was going better than expected, but ones we hit the final I had no legs anymore. I think I wasn’t 100% recovered from Roubaix. But I did enjoy the race today.”
“Now I will take a few days off and enjoy to be a father and husband because this period was really tought for all of us. I am looking forward to it. My next race will be the Tour of California, somewhere in May. But first some beers, please!”
