Quick Step Floors came too short in the last two stages of the Tour of California. Tuesday it was Peter Sagan who was too strong, a day later the breakaway managed to make it until the finish and the American Evan Huffman won.
“On Tuesday in the final it didn’t work out as we would, but we learn from it. But damn, today, Wednesday, it was again a really hard stage. A big congrats to all the breakaway riders, because we did our absolute maximum to chase them down, but we couldn’t.”
“The riders in front were just too strong. I was on the limit all day long. I am happy to be in a big American bed now so I can relax a bit”, our favorite said. Tomorrow the finish will be on the top of the Mount Baldy.
