Today the Tour de France started in Düsseldorf, Germany, with an individual time trial. Geraint Thomas was the fastest after 14 kilometers and is the first owner of the yellow jersey. Zdenek did a good job and finished 32th on 39 seconds.
“I think this was maybe one of my better time trials”, Styby said after the race. “I was happy to start my Tour finally. It was raining all day, and so it was also dangerous. It was difficult to find a balance between taking risks and go fast and not crash.”
The second stage will bring the riders tomorrow from Düsseldorf to Liege, in Belgium.
