On Sunday Zdenek had surgery to remove a cyst. Our champion was dealing with the issue for several weeks and in the end an operation was the only solution. "I’m happy it’s over now. I have to rest for a whole week and can’t train on my bike."

Last week Styby rode the first stages of the Fleche du Sud but was eventually forced to abandon the race. "Fortunately, Dr. Stefan Poelmans wanted to operate on me immediately. I have to thank him, because everything went very smoothly."

Due to the operation, Zdenek can’t start in next week's mountain bike race in Offenburg. Unfortunately the Tour of Belgium will also come too soon for Zdenek. "Too bad, because everything was going well."
