It was a busy week that included a race in Tabor and an appearance on Belgian TV, but now our world champion is focused on Zonhoven and Koppenberg. Zdenek does this by taking a quick look back on last season.
“Last year we didn't ride the crosses in the same week and that will play a decisive role. It was really hard to ride away in Zonhoven on the spectacular track, but that will be different now. The Koppenberg course is slightly different too. Last year I had the best legs in Oudenaarde (just like during the world championships in Tabor), but I didn't pull off a good result.”
Something to note: Sven Nys won both of these races last season. “I absolutely want to win the Koppenberg once. It's a monument in cyclocross. Last year I was 5th, in 2009 I was 8th and in 2008 I made the podium by finishing 3rd. You can see I still have room to grow with this cross.”
