Zdenek hopes to be back home in Essen Monday morning
Zdenek's girlfriend Ine was ready to pick up her boyfriend at the airport in Eindhoven Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately a strike in Spain changed those plans. Our world champion set a world record for waiting in the same spot at the airport in Alicante where he started reading a book about Lance Armstrong in Dutch, but eventually had to concede defeat and book a hotel room in Alicante. He won't be leaving for Belgium until Sunday evening.
“I'm going to do a bit of shopping today, watch the race on TV and leave for the airport again around 7:00pm. According to the normal schedule I should be in my bed in Essen at 1:30am.”
