Completely empty

Zdenek will remember the sixth stage of the Tour of Poland for a long time. Our favorite was completely empty after the finish. “It’s a long time since I’ve been empty and dead like today. But I’m glad that I could bring it to three kilometers from the finish line.”

“In the beginning of the stage a big group of 32 riders rode away. I did not think they would let those guys drive and so I waited for the next escape that would arise as soon as the group was seized. But that never happened. And so I had to stay in het peloton.”

The group would be caught later. In the finale Styby remained attentive. “The natural selection caused a lot of separation in the peloton. Each round there were a lot of victims due the sequence of altimeters. Three kilometers from the finish line it was my turn to drop.”

“However, I am satisfied with my condition after four months without competition. I hope I can continue to grow in the coming weeks and that I can show myself in the Eneco Tour and the Vuelta. There is still a time trial here tomorrow, but I would like not to think about it yet.”
