A day after the stage win by Zdenek the Tour of Spain went back uphill. The eight stage arrived at the Alto Peñas Blancas, where Leopold Konig ensured the second Czech stage win in a row. “Very good for cycling in our country”, said Styby.
“Today was a very fast start with narrow roads and lots of wind. Therefore it took a while before the breakaway was gone. The rest of the stage was hard with the mountains. I ended up in the bus on eighteen minute of the winner.”
And the winner was Konig from Team NetApp. “A great win for him and his team. They were pulling all day and Konig finished it off, which is not easy. Great for Czech cycling and I’m very happy about that!”By on 31/08/2013
