Nacer Bouhanni has won the second and third stage of the Tour of Beijing. Zdenek worked for the team again, but unfortunately more than a fifth place of Alessandro Petacchi was not possible.
“Yesterday it was a pretty fast stage over 200 kilometers with a similar scenario as the day before. There were five riders in the breakaway with our future teammate Thomas De Gendt, but everything got back together and we went for the sprint”, says Styby.
And what of today? “There were some opportunities to drive away. Tony Martin tried several times, but didn’t manage to build up a gap. Julien Vermote also rode very strong and did a lot of work. Everything stayed together and there was another bunch sprint.”
“Bouhanni won again and Martin was with an eleventh place our best man. I must say that it is quite pleasant to ride here. The nature is very beautiful and the roads are all new. I’m pleasantly surprised.”
