Today it was the last day on training camp in Calpe with the team. We have been here for ten days and we trained very good. The weather was good, except for yesterday. We had some rain during our six hour ride, but luckily it was only one day raining.
We have been training pretty hard with many kilometers and also really a lot of altitude meters. On every long ride we had over 3.000 altitude and the max was 3.700, which is really a lot. My feeling was pretty ok. After my cyclocross period I felt that I had to sit on my bike and ride for many hours because I had enough of intensity training during the races.
In general I’m happy where I stand right now with my shape. There is still some work to go, but we’re only January. After the team presentation I go together with Ine to Mallorca, where I will be staying until my first road race with the Tour of Oman.
About the Worlds in Hoogerheide, as I said in the media, I still didn’t make a decision whether I start or not. It will be a last minute decision. I will not play games. Whether I start or not, when I announce it, I will be for 100% sure and confident about my decision.
