The second stage of the Tour de Wallonie has been won by the Italian Giacomo Nizzolo. Gianni Meersman, teammate of Styby at Omega Pharma-Quick Step, finished second again, but takes the lead in the general classification.
“It was a long stage,” says Zdenek. “The first 100 kilometers were pretty boring. But when the little climbs started, the kilometers went pretty fast. We went again for the sprint for Gianni, but first the guys had to close the gap for the bonification sprint.”
Gianni won that sprint and took over the leaders jersey. “But for the final sprint Nizzolo was a little bit faster. But he takes the lead in the general classification, which is also great. Tomorrow we will probably try again for a sprint.”
