Nairo Quintana has won the Tour of Valencia. Zdenek had a good week and is going home with two twelfth places. In the general classification he finished 33th. “I’m happy with the start of my season”, he says.
“Everything went well the last couple of days. The preparation to the classics has started now. It was no easy race, with 4.000 altitude meters on day four. The last stage was cancelled due to the wind, but we did a short race of 50 kilometers anyway. And it went fast.”
“We had Iljo Keisse of our team Quick Step Floors in the front, and he almost finished it off. He was really strong. We had a good week here in Valencia and now it’s time to go back to Mallorca for some more training. My next race will be the Tour of Algarve in Portugal.”
